NI³CE Survey Now Available

Campus Compact will not be sending out its annual membership survey in 2018 as it is being redesigned so that we can continue to provide data that is crucial to our mission and the field. This year, the Compact is encouraging member campuses to participate in the National Inventory of Institutional Infrastructure for Community Engagement (NI³CE, formally NIIICE). The NI³CE provides a profile that a campus center for community engagement can use to compare its programming infrastructure in six categories with other institutions based on benchmarks included in the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement. The University of New Haven is a private, top-tier comprehensive institution recognized as a national leader in experiential education. The University enrolls approximately 6,900 students, the majority of whom reside in University housing. The Engineering Science University Magnet School (ESUMS) was established in 2008 as an inter-district magnet school (grades 6-12) through a collaboration between the cities of New Haven, West Haven and the University of New Haven. Davis Grant Will Provide Campus Funding for Environmental Stewardship

Massachusetts Campus Compact, in partnership with Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont Campus Compacts, has been awarded a $168,000 grant from the Davis Educational Foundation to support curricular innovation and environmental stewardship. The Campuses for Environmental Stewardship (CES) program will train college faculty from 18 colleges and universities to develop and deliver courses in which students and faculty partner with community organizations to address pressing environmental issues. Through this two-year initiative, more than 70 faculty members working in multidisciplinary teams will work to embed environmental service-learning components into their courses.
