Tasia Cerezo Joins CCSNE Team

June 26, 2017

Campus Compact is pleased to announce Tasia Cerezo as our new VISTA Program Manager. She will be joining Sharon Bassett and Tim Krumreig in leading the CCSNE VISTA Project, joining the CCSNE team on July 5.

Tasia brings both VISTA and VISTA Leader experience with the Compact to her new role as well as experience in youth empowerment and working with community college students, staff and faculty.  “As community colleges expand the ways they leverage AmeriCorps VISTA to support and retain low-income students it was important to add a staff member with experience in this area” noted Sharon Bassett, Director of CCSNE VISTA.  “She has a passion for VISTA, a passion for first-generation students and a passion for the work of Campus Compact.”

Tasia comes to us from one of our member campuses, Mount Wachusett Community College, where she served as Transfer/Academic Counselor for the Visions TRIO Program. In addition to several nonprofit positions, Tasia previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member through Massachusetts Campus Compact (MACC) serving at Pine Manor College before continuing with MACC as a VISTA Leader for two years where she developed a passion for supporting VISTA members in their service. Her community work has ranged from developing student programs for post-Hurricane Katrina rebuilding to supporting low-income teens and families in both non-profit and higher education.

Tasia has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Spelman College and a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Community Engagement from Merrimack College.
