Campus Food and Housing Insecurity Addressed at #RealCollege Conference

Last week, two Campus Compact for Southern New England VISTA members attended the #RealCollege conference, a national convening on college student food and housing insecurity, at Temple University in Philadelphia. It was the second annual #RealCollege conference, hosted by Wisconsin Hope Lab. Caity Vogt and Marie Dillivan are CCSNE VISTA members. Caity serves at the National Campus Compact office as the Housing Partnerships Coordinator VISTA, and Marie serves at CCSNE as the Campus Food Security VISTA. They work on researching food and housing insecurity among college students, mapping interventions, and identifying and curating resources for campuses aiming to address these issues….

Upcoming National Conference on Food and Housing Insecurity on Campus and Convening Summary from 2016

Ahead of the upcoming #RealCollege conference October 23-24 at Temple University, CCSNE is sharing the convening summary from the April 2016 conference held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. #RealCollege is a national convening on food and housing insecurity among undergraduates that last year brought together policymakers, practitioners, advocates, faculty, students, and researchers working to secure undergraduates’ basic needs for a two-day event. VISTA Voices: Marie Dillivan

Marie Dillivan is a second year AmeriCorps VISTA member who will be serving with Campus Compact for Southern New England to build capacity in addressing food insecurity on campuses.  As an AmeriCorps VISTA serving with Massachusetts Campus Compact, I’ve spent the last year focusing my work on food insecurity in higher education.
